As of 1 July, E.ON Benelux will reduce its prices for gas and electricity by 25.5 % for private customers. Gas prices will be reduced by 34 % and power prices will be reduced by 10 %. On a yearly basis, this adjustment comes to a reduction of 300 euros for an average household. E.ON will inform its private customers personally starting 25 April. The monthly advance bills will be adjusted automatically from July onwards.
The price reduction is a result of the steep decline in prices for oil worldwide. The price of natural gas is linked to the oil price. Since electricity is also generated with natural gas, the oil price influences the price of electricity. With this price reduction, E.ON lives up to its promise to follow the market closely, in order to be able to let its customers benefit from being a customer of Europe’s biggest energy company.
E.ON AG is a listed energy company with more than 30 million customers in about 30 countries. E.ON has 88.000 staff and a turnover of € 69 billion. E.ON Benelux generates and supplies electricity, heat and gas to both domestic and business clients. The company has approx. 1.900 MW of production capacity in the Netherlands.
