Rotterdam and Eindhoven, 10 October 2005 - E.ON Benelux has finalized a five-year sponsorship deal with Dutch premier league football club PSV Eindhoven. The contract covers both sponsorship and relation-marketing. Starting this season E.ON Benelux will be able to present itself as an “official partner” of PSV for the duration of the contract.
E.ON Benelux recently acquired the Eindhoven based power-supplier NRE Energie – a former sponsor of PSV. The continuation of this partnership with PSV underlines E.ON Benelux’s regional commitment. E.ON demonstrates its involvement with the localities where it is active.
For the public the cooperation with PSV will be evidenced by a range of sponsoring actives. These will include rotating boarding at the Philips stadium during premier league games, advertising boards outside the stadium and the main pitch of De Herdgang training complex, as well as a spread of media.
Edward Sigar, director of E.ON Benelux, had this to say about the agreement: ‘At E.ON Benelux we are really pleased that this joint deal with PSV has panned out. Although E.ON operates internationally, the local focus is very important for us – getting near to our customers. And it meshes excellently with PSV’s image.’
PSV is also happy with the contract, as Relations Manager Miriam van Moll went on record: ‘We had great contacts with NRE Energie going back years. I am sure in the years ahead we will build on this even more with E.ON. I am certain that in the area of relation-marketing, exposure and networking it will mean major mutual value.’
