1941

Founding of N.V. Electriciteitsbedrijf Zuid-Holland (EZH), responsible for high voltage transport in the province of Zuid-Holland
 
1974 Maasvlakte goes on line (owned by GEB Rotterdam) as oil/gas fired power station
 
1985 Construction starts of Maasvlakte pulverised coal power station
 
1987 Merging of large-scale electricity production and distribution. EZH becomes owner/operator of all large-scale production locations for electricity and heat in the province of Zuid-Holland.
 
1996 Opening RoCa3; start-up of CO2 supplies to horticultural operators
 
1996-1998 EZH involved in merger process to form large-scale production company (GPB) in the Netherlands
 
1998 EZH separates grid operations into B.V. Transportnet Zuid-Holland, later part of TenneT
 
1999 PreussenElektra becomes owner of EZH
 
2000 EZH starts operations as E.ON Benelux
 
2002 Brussels sales office opens as E.ON Belgium
 
2004 E.ON Benelux’s engineering bureau goes forward under the name of E.ON Engineering B.V. as part of E.ON Engineering G.m.b.H.
 
2005 E.ON Benelux becomes owner of supply company NRE Energie and Q-ENERGY in Eindhoven
