E.ON Benelux

E.ON Policy

E.ON has confidence in the Dutch market and the Dutch investment climate for electricity generating stations – notably in the area of the Port of Rotterdam. This meshes with E.ON’s growth strategy to expand production capacity and so contribute to power security of supply in The Netherlands both for commercial and private clients.

In planning new production capacity the E.ON-group worldwide seeks a sustainable energy balance. This includes the development of sustainable resources such as biomass, wind and hydrogen.

All the same, the transition to sustainable energy production moves slowly. For the time being, when it comes to economically viable generation of electricity the Netherlands cannot ignore fossil fuels like coal and gas. At the same time major steps have to be taken, particularly to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. This demands technological breakthroughs, notably for the development of high-yield production and capture and storage of CO2.
