Rotterdam/Eindhoven, 16 March 2007 – As from 21 March the Eindhoven area will be getting new energy. And, effective the same date NRE Energie will go forward under the name E.ON, as part of the E.ON Benelux company. The introduction of the E.ON brand is the start of a new market approach aimed at reinforcing links with existing customers and boosting the market share of Dutch households.

E.ON is a power company with its own electricity generating plants and 15 million customers Europe-wide. E.ON has built up a strong position in the Dutch corporate market in recent years – but its ambition in this country goes even further. E.ON Benelux seeks a leading position as a supplier of electricity, gas, CO2 and heat to Dutch consumers. Although the company already operates on an international scale it stays as close as possible to its customers with an optimal service offering.

This strategy is also being implemented in the Netherlands. The acquisition of NRE Energie in 2005 gave E.ON access to the consumer market. In recent months a new service organisation has been set up. Just over 100 new personnel have been recruited from the Eindhoven area for this service organisation. E.ON’s very own, new customer service operation will be dedicated to continual enhancement of service to existing customers and to acquiring new customers in the Netherlands. In this way E.ON seeks to make an important step in the fields of customer service, attractive product propositions and motivated, professional personnel.

Over the next several months E.ON will carry out an extensive campaign to further introduce itself in the Eindhoven area. Over the next few weeks E.ON will take a high profile on the streets of Eindhoven with posters, customer-campaigns and events. And there will be a personalized mailing to all customers explaining the change of name.
