Sponsoring and donations
E.ON believes that is important to be part of society. As an energy company we are very aware of our responsibility for the world around us, in the future. By sponsorship on a regional and national level we seek to make a contribution to society and to demonstrate our involvement.
E.ON’s policy on sponsorship and donations covers three areas:
Social responsibility
By sponsorship and making donations we show warm support for a number of charitable organisations.
- Lichtjes voor Sophia (lights for Sophia) at the Sophia Children’s Hospital in Rotterdam
- Stichting Melief (foundation) ensures a safe and dignified old-age for animals that have been abused.
- Mappa Mondo Dutch Red Cross house
- Ride for the Roses, founded by Lance Armstrong for the KWF Cancer Fund
- Stichting Nationale Boomfeestdag. On 21 March 2007 the foundation celebrated its fiftieth anniversary.

Art shows and cultural events add colour to life. E.ON supports several larger and smaller-scale events across the country.

E.ON recognises the special significance of sport. To this end we sponsor several sports initiatives:

- Sponsor of the EC Swimming 2008
- Swimpartner KNZB
- We sponsor the Eindhoven Marathon
- Roparun 2006 was (partly) enabled by E.ON sponsorship
